Who are we?
Furtherance was formed in an attempt to directly impact Thera. As the first truly real content that CCP has injected into the game since 2009, we want Thera to be a vibrant, lived-in, used system, not just a new flash in the pan feature that fizzles just as soon as it is introducted. We we are and what we do was shaped directly with that in mind. We are living there. We are fighting there. We are helping others make use of the system as well. We are the founders of the largest Thera-centric community in-game, averaging over 220 users in the 'Thera Local Chat' channel. We've been featured on evenews24 & EVE Radio, and formed with the active involvement and brainstorming of several CSM members.
What do we offer?
- Corporate TS3.
- Corporate Industrial Support.
- Camaraderie. We donGÇÖt care how many ops you run with the corp. We care that when youGÇÖre on, youGÇÖre chatting with/getting to know your fellow corp and alliance members.
- A commitment to actively seeking out ideas to better ourselves. All of us are smarter than any one of us. Expect the ability to contribute right away.
- Daily small gangs and organized fleets.
- Scheduled specialized fleets.
- A home in the most interesting system in EVE.
- A "battleship-minded" corporation (mentality, not ships). Everyone has an ability that we expect them to use. As a result, content is not driven by the few, but by the many.
- No drama, just a clear focus on contributing and having fun.
Who are we looking for?
Furtherance. is currently seeking content creators. As mentioned above, the corporation isn't a cruise ship. Don't join expecting myself or the other Directors to provide all of your content. You have gifts or abilities. Be ready to use them when you join the corp, regardless of how old your in-game character is (read: we don't currently have a SP minimum). Specifically, we're looking for PvPers, Explorers, and Industrialists willing and wanting to call Thera home. We are recruiting in all timezones, but with a particular emphasis on US and EU evenings.
- Ideal PvPer candidates should be able to fly Bombers, Interceptors, Interdictors, and Shield/Skirmish HACs (Ishtars, Gilas)
- Interested Explorers preferably can fly Cov Ops or cloaking T3 with max or near-max scanning skills
- Industrialists should have the ability to haul into hostile space (Blockade Runner) and participate in building corp assets/seeding the Thera market.
Beyond those high level thoughts, we have some specific objectives as a corporation. We want to:
Help OthersGǪ
- GǪto reach Thera. We have no intention at all to GÇ£claimGÇ¥ Thera. ThatGÇÖd be silly. WeGÇÖre far too small. To that end, we have formed the GÇÿThera Local ChatGÇÿ channel which is open to the community at large. In it we list trusted scouts that you can solicit help from in entering the system. The idea is simple: Find the closest connection to where you are. Hop in your ship. Request to talk with one of the trusted scouts. TheyGÇÖll let you know what the Thera side of the connection looks like as you approach. Jump in. Profit.
- GǪto make use of the space. There are four stations in Thera. Two are kick outs. Two are not. All four can be camped by bombers, snipers, brawlers, etcGǪ We want to ensure that, to the best of our ability, the stations remain clear so people can dock and undock per their desire.
Fight There
- The above may lend you to believe that Furtherance is combat averse. WeGÇÖre not. The opportunity for PvP is a huge reason why we chose Thera. While yes, we will scout you into the system and let you warp off, that does not mean we wonGÇÖt blow you up in one of the anomalies or signatures in-system. We will. WeGÇÖll also actively engage people entering Thera that arenGÇÖt using the scouting service. That fully-loaded Orca you decided to bring in through the lowsec entrance on the sly? We saw it coming. ItGÇÖs now a wreck. Sorry, but thanks for the content. Also, those inevitable station camps? We plan to actively intervene against those as well.
Live There
- We plan on calling Thera home. Medical clone in one of the stations? Check. Intel channel that other friendly (read: awesome people to PvP alongside) residents can tap into? Check. Occasionally do some anoms or sigs that are in the system? Maybe. ThatGÇÖs pretty far behind our other interests.
- A hyper-connected, mobile system also lends to amazing roaming PvP opportunities as well. At any given time we will have our choice of low and null systems to go pew in, and high sec to restock from. Today Immensea. Tomorrow Fountain. The next day Tribute. Then Delve.
- The same is true for dedicated explorers, which we welcome with open arms. Having a new system/constellation/region available to you daily gives you unlimited opportunities to run those data, archaeology, and combat sites youGÇÖre wanting.
